Vertical AI startups are not sexy anymore?

Hi, I’m Sergey Osipov @s_osipov, cofounder of Placy (AI real estate agent). Launched about 20 startups and had some exits, including a unicorn IPO. Sharing here my observations and tips for AI founders. Join! #AI #Startup #PropTech

YC is encouraging founders to build full-stack AI biz. Not AI tools. Not B2B SaaS. Not plugins. Entire companies where AI does 80% of the work. Humans do strategy and closing

Sure, it takes a lot more resources to start a whole business than to build an individual tool for that business. But that’s the point: use robots instead of humans!

For instance, Placy is an AI sales assistant for real estate. Outcome: qualified leads recorded in CRM. We can add a few more AI tools down by the value chain of a real estate agency/developer, and…

…it’ll grow into a platform of an AI-first agency of the future. Or it’ll serve hundreds of agencies as a SaaS B2B set of AI tools. Two pretty different strategies, right? To mine gold or to sell shovels to those who mine gold

Community, which strategy wins?
