AI Startup Strategy: Quick vs Wise

Hi, I’m Sergey Osipov @s_osipov, cofounder of Placy (AI real estate agent). Launched about 20 startups and had some exits, including a unicorn IPO. Sharing here my observations and tips for AI founders. Join! #AI #Startup #PropTech

As a unicorn builder, you run fast, trying to grab as many markets as you can to be the first niche AI service in the maximum number of countries

Or you can run wisely harnessing low-hanging fruits first, finding the product market fit in the pilot country before burning investments on the global rollout

Two very different strategies, right

Placy team is building the industry's first platform where AI assistants team up with real estate pros. Being the pioneers at the moment, we can go both ways

The faster approach has about a 10-15% probability of building a unicorn, but we could lose everything otherwise. The slower approach doesn't lead to bankruptcy at all (B2B AI automation is a clear business), but has the lower unicorn chance, let's say ~5%, because we don’t secure the first-mover position

And keep in mind, based on your votes above👆the AI bubble looms, and the Valley of Despair whispers from beyond Euphoria Hill with a limited investment perspective for 2026

Community, which strategy would you choose for Placy?

Give me 🍓strawberry if you feel Placy must expand worldwide as fast as it can. Or hand over 🍌banana if you think Placy should first validate the biz-model in its pilot Cyprus/Greece markets before jumping into new territories right away this year
